Atrophy of purpose

Based upon Laura’s question last night – “what’s my purpose here?” – I feel confident that it’s time for her to shoulder some defined responsibilities again. She is now suffering from an atrophy of a sense of purpose. She’s been shoveling off virtually all the responsibilities in her role as a mother to unqualified twenty-somethings for nearly a year now and even when she recognizes poor execution on their part her approach is to fix them rather than take over on the things they aren’t doing well enough.

I think that Laura needs to take over with the younger children by 10 each morning unless she has an appointment for everything except feeding them. She should remain in charge until the end of the school day.
