Joseph Smith Jr.

It is easy for members of the church to practice hero worship of the property of the restoration but while I believe he had no material weakness as a man (meaning no fault that we should accuse him of being undone as pertaining to righteousness) I am also comfortable with the fact that he was fallible and struggled through his mission in mortality with the same kind of shortsightedness, jumping to conclusions, and foot-dragging that we are all prone to at times in our lives as well as the regular bouts of walking in relative darkness, not knowing what to expect next even while doing the right thing. In other words, even without any material weaknesses he was much like the rest of us in his path of doing his best with mortal limitations and weaknesses and being dependent upon the grace of Christ to compensate for his shortcomings.
