Plates and other plates

I wonder if there was something list in translation or just some cultural difference that renders Nephi’s explanation about the two sets of plates and their names less peculiar. He offers the name of the other set of plates apparently as a way to distinguish the two sets and then admits that both sets of plates have the same name.

I would be very interested to have the book of Lehi to better understand how much Lehi lbs from his visions and how clearly he taught his children. It is easy to assume that he only had the dream and not it’s interpretation since the record we have only includes Nephi’s interpretation of the dream.
