President Jackson: Our Responsibility (as disciples) to Believe

Belief is a choice. We decide what we are willing to believe.

The processes by which we seek knowledge in the telestial world are provisionally based on skepticism. These are telestial tools but hardly adequate for celestial pursuits. (nearly a quote)

Believe is forcing or mind to accept as true things that we can’t conclusively prove as true.

Using skepticism as the foundation as we pursue spiritual knowledge can lead to any conclusion because with a foundation of skepticism we cannot acquire the evidence of celestial things to prove them this out final spiritual destination is based on random and unpredictable circumstances and is never secure. (Exhibit A: James)

The Lord asked the brother of Jared is he would believe all that the Lord would yet reveal, not whether he believed what has already been revealed.

“The scriptures teach that mother’s have a special ability to foster belief in their children.”

“I pray that a special endowment will be upon the mother’s of our stake to be able to teach their children not to doubt.”

Kathy Garff:
“Tarry ye in the temple. Yes there are waits there. Enjoy them.”

Robert Garff (Bountiful Temple President):
I used to see “hastening the work” as some arithmetical thing (attend the temple more, have more baptisms, etc.) but I have come to understand it are more of an internal, personal thing. (nearly a quote)

Sister Elizabeth Clark?:
What is it that our eyes hear and our ears hear? What is it that we perceive? (The point being that what we recognize depends on what we choose to tune into whether it is a rare birdcall or whether it is a falling coin.)

President Eyeing has taught that if we begun a prayer with thanks go or blessings and then pause and listen the Spirit will bring to our remembrance more things that we have been blessed with.

Spencer W. Clark:
There is a difference between filling our stomachs (physically or spiritually) and being nourished.
