The proud shall be humbled before the Lord

Isaiah spoke of the land of Israel being full of gold, silver, horses, and chariots, but also full of idols and pride. He then declares that the proud shall be humbled before the glory of the Lord in the last day. I’ve always known that applied to Israel but I realize it applies just as much to this promised Land because it to is a covenanted homeland for the people of the covenant.

The Lord wants his people to put on their beautiful garments and remove in Him but when they become haughty He will expose the scabs beneath those vestments of celebration.

It is important to recognize that the is a gap between hearing something and understanding its implications. Likewise there is a gap between seeing something and perceiving its significance.
