If we are to raise young men equal to Helaman’s stripling warriors we have to know what characteristics made them who they were. They were:
- They were exceedingly valiant for courage, and also for strength and activity
- They were men who were true at all times in whatsoever thing they were entrusted
- They were men of truth and soberness
- They had been taught to keep the commandments of God
- They made a covenant to support righteousness
I want to raise four boys like that and find at least four others.
It never occurred to me before how natural it would have been for the servants of the king who was slain by the men of Amalikiah to for to the Nephites for safety. Before Amalikiah became king many of the Nephites weren’t desirous to go to way against the Nephites. When those servants saw their king murdered that could have guessed that things were about to get ugly.
