Helaman says that his stripling warriors “were worthy to be called sons” and that as he had ever called them his sons they also called him father. I wonder if it’s even possible for someone to be “worthy to be called son” if they don’t see the person on the other side of the relationship as being worthy to be treated as a father.
I have Lisi who is worthy to be called my daughter (and very good friend) but I wonder if I could feel quite that way if she didn’t also feel that I was a father-type figure in her life.
