I think Peter was unsure of his direction when he decided to go fishing. Perhaps part of the “feed my sheep” lesson was to instruct Peter that anytime he was uncertain of his direction he should fall back on proclaiming the gospel and inviting the children of men to come to know their Savior.
Priesthood
Remember to view people through the lens of their eternal potential.
