The message of the coming of the Messiah was so important that Lehi continued to tell his sons about the coming captivity and redemption of the Jews at Jerusalem even after they had left when they might seem to have no more reason to think about their brethren. I wondered why he did that until I recognized that it was seeing the context for the prophecies concerning the coming Messiah.
