Answers to even mundane questions

 I had wondered if the Lamanites saw the remaining Nephites as no threat. I don’t know whether they actually felt threatened but whatever their reasons they choose to hunt down even the few Nephites who had escaped southward at the battle of Cumorah. Their goal want simply to neutralize a threat, it was too utterly exterminate a people. Their goal was genocide.
