A choice land

I had always thought that Moroni emphasized the choice land and the promise of the Lord because he had seen his people destroyed and he was writing the record of the Jaredites who had been destroyed. The reality is that he emphasized it because he saw the similarities between the pattern of the Jaredites and the Nephites, and what he had seen in vision of the latter days. His emphasis is to warm us to pull back from our wickedness before we come to a place of irreversible wickedness in the land.
