The daughter of Jared

I have not been able to reconcile myself to the idea that the daughter of Jared actually launched the plan that lead to the secret combination without someone else suggesting it in some way. I have long believed that she had reason to expect that Akish already would wish to marry her. I would more easily believe that she knew the heart of her father and of Akish and recognized compatible desires. I would be utterly unsurprised to learn that she had learned the hard of Akish and hard him talk of secret plans as a way to accomplish what her father wanted. Surely she too already had desires for power and for Akish before she approached her father with the idea.
