New Stake Presidency

President Barlow called to preside over the Quito Ecuador mission (leaving in July). Stake Presidency reorganized. Doug Monson is the new second counselor.

President Jackson

Jesus commanded His disciples to spiritually separated from the world (to avoid being corrupted by the world) while remaining in the world to be a light, a leaven, and salt to lift, bless, and improve the world around them. Changes that were essential to the plan of salvation took place with the fall of Adam.

At the fall, Heavenly Father placed enmity between the children of men and the followers of Satan. That opposition will gently push us to come to Christ and avoid evil – if we will allow it.

To be sensual is to put undue priority on what we experience with our mortal senses.

To be devilish is to be constantly probing the line between good and evil.

President Barlow

When he testifies about the goodness of President Jackson – he was in a position to uniquely know.

President Doug Monson

What a perfect introduction to a new calling. He is grateful and promises to consecrate his talents to the work.
Heavenly Father exposing some things to us that we don’t yet understand may be akin to trying to explain calculus to a 14 month old grandchild – it can’t be done because we don’t have the capacity to understand but we can know that He loves us just as his 14 month old granddaughter understands when he tells her that he loves her.

Sister Robyn Beck

As her husband (David Beck) was presiding over a mission in Brazil decades ago Elder Richard G. Scott taught their mission how to effectively study scriptures and their family as well as their missionaries gained a love of scripture study that has blessed them for years ever since. This is why they are having the sister scripture study class on Tuesdays.

Sister Bourne

A circle can be a terrible thing when we feel like we are on the outside looking in.

You can’t love a label or visit a label. When we label people we do so out of fear. When we label people it’s because we only know a piece of them or possibly we are simply missing a piece of them.

How often do we stand measuring the flour of forgiveness rather than giving it freely and generously.

Elder Bourne

Making righteous choices helps us build up a spiritual reserve to help us through the spiritual storms that we encounter.

Four foundations: the first vision, the Book of Mormon, the priesthood, the Lord Jesus Christ.
