Everyone, including Laura, indicated that the family meeting today want what they had expected. Laura talked about the work she had done, the triggers she had identified, the supports she needed to make use of etc. but we had all anticipated more concrete plans of how she would keep herself safe. That difference made my statement from yesterday that the real work started now even more true then I thought at the time.

The four of us (Laura, me, Becca, Marsha) went to Cracker Barrel for lunch and had some good conversation. Becca and Marsha still wanted more concrete plans by the time we finished than we had but I felt good with the plan to have Laura stay with my mom for the night after stopping by the house to get the kids. The goal being to reconnect without overloading her. Sadly, Savannah managed to miss Laura during the few seconds that they were both home. For some reason she went to talk to Ingrid and didn’t get back home until after Laura had left with mom. I handled dinner, basketball, and bedtime while Laura went to a movie with mom and shopped for groceries. After bedtime I took the van to Mom’s house so Laura would be able to get around tomorrow and then Laura and I got to talk more. She told me that she wants a wedding ring – like mine – and we talked about how she can/should connect with people and find something to broaden her life as allow her to blossom.
