The city of Nephi

I sometimes mistakenly think of the city of Nephi as the first dwelling of Lehi in the promised land but it was not established until after the death of Lehi when Laman and Lemuel sought to kill Nephi. It is interesting to note that it later became the capital city of the Lamanites. I assume this is because Nephi built a better city than any they had built and this they used it as their capital after they overran the remaining Nephites there after the departure of Mosiah.
