How we, as Christians and as supposed followers of God, render the Jews is indicative of how much we truly follow God. The less we think of them the less we must be thinking of Him. When the Maury of people in Europe turned a blind eye to the Holocaust it shows how far they had turned their eyes from God. We see the same phenomenon today.
