Right after Noah went to school Laura and I interviewed another prospective nanny named Stephanie. Laura feels like she will be the right one. We’re doing a trial day with her on Monday. The confidence level is such that Laura called to let Chandler know that we are letting her go. Laura did a great job of highlighting her strengths as well as fairly and kindly pointing out ways that she could improve in future positions.
In other news, I ran up to Park City to pick up the still unengraved ring for Laura. They gave me the name of a trophy place that could likely do the work. In the afternoon I made the trip the only to have them conclude that they couldn’t do it either. I asked if they knew of a place and someone eventually said, “maybe the Shane Company across the street, they have in-house engravers.” I went over to the Shane Company and one of the employees showed the ring to an engraver to see if he could do it. Receiving an affirmative answer she came back and to my order. By next week we should have an engraved ring.
Finally, Laura and I got out on a date and I finally saw Hidden Figures. It’s a great movie.
