I have long assumed that the question for Abinadi about the words of Isaiah was issued by an honest or conflicted young Alma. While that may be the case it is also possible that it was asked by another of the priests simply as a way to goad Abinadi who did not seem to be “publishing peace.”
It is important to remember that regardless of the origin or intent of the question the Lord is able to use it and supply an answer which will touch the hearts of those who are willing to listen.
