I managed to help Alyssa with her math this morning even though we had to take her in to school one period late. Hopefully she felt good about her test because of it. The kids and I did shopping during the day and then I took Alyssa to get braces on her teeth in the afternoon.
The evening consisted of the dinner party (which was first conceived as a combined 40th birthday for Laura and I) which we had been planning off and on for months. Laura made a main dish while friends brought side dishes. We had Jared and Kim Jacobson, Trent and Sherie Christensen, and Jeremy and Tamara Adams. I had initially wanted one more couple but after tonight I have concluded that 8 people is generally ideal for a game night dinner party. Everyone got along splendidly and we had a fantastic evening for over 3 hours. Afterward Laura and I talked about some possible themes for future parties. We planning to do them every 2 to 3 months with our next one slated for early to mid June.
