Today was stressed with the closing buffer before we have no nanny as we desperately search for a new nanny. Being our anniversary I wanted to spend time with Laura but being on call this week I knew that would be limited. The way the evening played out was nearly tragic.
I got a new bed foundation which promises a place for Laura to return to but once I got dinner served I had to go to the store with Savannah. After bedtime I had to go to the store with Mariah. When I got home from that I discovered that Alyssa hadn’t come home from young women’s so, already late to see Laura, I had to go looking for Alyssa. She got home at 9:30 leaving me enough time to say hello to Laura before I had to leave because I was supposed to get a call to test an upgrade by 9:45. It felt super lame by 10:30 when I had seen Laura for all of 6 minutes on our anniversary and still hadn’t been called to do the testing.
Laura redeemed it all by asking me to bring the last disc of Balleykissangel over. The obvious hint was that we could have some quality time together – possibly including sex. When I got over there and settled in she openly indicated that sex was an option but not necessarily an expectation. Although we were interrupted by two calls for testing around midnight we had a very nice evening snuggling while watching the sweetest episodes of the show. It was a very pleasant end to a fairly stressful anniversary.
