Brooklyn Homecoming

We got up early this morning so that we could drive down for Brooklyn’s homecoming. The power went off around 7:30 but thankfully there was enough heat let in the pans to functionally finish cooking breakfast. We got dressed largely in the dark and left shortly after 8.

Savannah got to drive on the freeway for the first extended time since it was light Sunday traffic.

I really enjoyed the entire meeting and saw in Brooke the same maturity grown deeper that I had begin to sense after she decided to serve her mission.

We had an enjoyable time visiting with everyone and even got to meet Whitney’s boyfriend there at the house – Ethan seems like a nice guy.

After we came home we had a little break before we went over to the Adamson’s for a barbeque. As we walked over there I saw the Young’s returning somewhat late from stake conference and I had the thought that Shane has been called into the Stake High Counsel. Interestingly at the Adamson’s I heard the news that he had, in fact, received that very call. I asked Jeremy Adamson if he knew who the new Elders Quorum President was and he told me it was him! Later I asked more questions and learned that the change has been made three weeks earlier but never announced outside the quorum. His counselors are Mike Eggett and Jesse Woolley with Clark Stringfellow as the secretary. I enjoyed talking with Jeremy, he’ll do a good job as president – especially with such counselors to help him.

We really enjoyed our time with their family.
