Continuing the process

I went in to work slightly later this morning so that I could help Laura get kids out the door for the chiropractor. It’s another example of why I need a more flexible work environment. I got some good things done at work but my day was interrupted by two interesting phone calls. First was a call from a recruiting for if never heard of. Apparently I had done something with them for years ago when they had a different name (they have been purchased in those intervening years). I wasn’t jumping up to work with them but I thought their timing was interesting.

Later, around 2:30, I got a call from a Texas area code which I want sure why I would get a call from there. The moment that I heard the caller introduced herself as Melanie Taylor from Willis Towers Watson I was all ears. She said that the hiring managers wanted to continue the process. She asked if I was still interested, what my salary expectations were, and whether I could be available to interview with the team next week sometime. I would say that means my chances of getting an offer are pretty decent. I’m very happy to know that they apparently felt good about the interview like I did. With rumors that Dominion might move us to an office outside of downtown I have one more reason to find a better fit.
