Why is it important for the check to be officially recognized by the government? Obviously sometimes it isn’t recognized (Alma while Noah reigned) but Mosiah made it official that Alma had authority to run the church and select the leaders within the church. Why did Mosiah do that rather than just allowing Alma to operate without any formal recognition?
