Earnest prayer

I have always wondered why Nephi put to much more effort into his prayer to end the famine than he had into the prayer to begin it. I realized today that the reason was that he was so much more eager to see the famine end than he was too request it. I had assumed that it was because he was not quite as confident about whether the Lord would agree to end it. I feel he was sure the Lord would wish to end it as he did.
