When people grudgingly serve God, when they outwardly keep the statutes while inwardly grumbling, they feel burdened and unhappy and find that they cannot see the blessings of obedience. Part of this is because grudging obedience is a form of disobedience – dabbling in the sin of pride – and another part is that their sir attitude makes them unable or unwilling to see the blessings that are poured out for their compliance.
