Spring Break

I didn’t mention yesterday that I am hoping to write journal entries more consistently again because I have had a few experiences in recent months that I have meant to record and didn’t so that now all I remember is the feeling that I meant to record them but I have no memory of what they were. Having said that…

Today I took the day off of work to participate for a day in the kids’ spring break. We started the morning with a ride to Art Dye park. Ezra and Emma were happy to be out riding their bikes again and their enthusiasm for the bikes didn’t wane even as it began raining and they (along with everyone else) really wanted to get home and dry. We watched a movie at home before going out to celebrate Emma’s birthday with a trip to Airborne and then Salt City Burger. That still left just enough time for a trip to the library (we had some things that needed to get back) followed by another movie before bed. Savannah finally got back from the choir tour in the middle of that later movie so the whole family is back together for the remainder of the break.

And I almost forgot to mention that my phone died last night – as in dead, not dead battery – after I wrote in my journal. I’ve ordered a new phone but I’m happy that nothing of real importance is locked into that device. I may not have wanted to spend money on a new phone yet but I knew it was going to be dying at some point so it’s not a great loss on a phone that was released almost 5 years ago and that I have been using for nearly 3 years already.
