Today I felt so everything as I worked on reporting for our expired OKRs and planning the new ones. I had very positive interactions surrounding those high level activities and I have found during this last quarter that I could maintain better focus on what needed to be done (although part of that improvement is surely moving from Systems to Insights). I also had a streak of inspiration for improving our family culture which perfectly meshes with things that Laura was telling the kids when I got home. Clearly there is a spiritual message being broadcast for us right now. It seems especially timely as Mariah finally admitted it loud that she doesn’t like any of her siblings. She has always fantasized about being an only child and she has long had a disdain for the other kids but she was never willing to say that she doesn’t like any of them – including Savannah. It’s time for a change of culture.
The girls finally got to opening night for Les Mis and after picking up a couple of Savannah’s friends who came to see the show I went to the dance recital at American Fork High to see Alyssa dance (yes, she is literally doing a musical and a dance concert at the same time for 2 nights – she misses 1 ensemble scene she is in of the play and ships all but her own number of the dance concert).
It is also clearly time to step up our efforts to get Laura operating at a level closer to normal. She’s been floundering and is now starting to grasp at straws for how to make things better but the common theme is that she is looking for solutions that don’t include focusing on fixing her performance.
