Last night we went camping up the canyon – Savannah and the 4 youngest with me along with Bill and Andrew. We had a good time even though we got off later than we hoped. As we drove home in the morning I picked up a message that Mariah left last night where she said that Ruby had died. That would be completely unexpected except that Mariah had told me in the afternoon yesterday that Ruby wasn’t being very active. Looking at her everything seemed fine but obviously something had changed that Mariah could detect. As much as I didn’t want to lose Ruby, at least it had been such a short time that the pet store would give Mariah a new guinea pig. She picked a sand colored cutie that she named Anne and one way that she differed from most of the previous ones is that she is 8 months old rather than 8 weeks old. As I recall, Molly had also been older and she lived the longest so far. Anne is very personable so far – hopefully she can stay with us for a long time.
