There are three fundamental types of witnesses for a sure testimony: the witness of the prophets (historical figures), the personal witness of someone current, and the witness of the Spirit to your spirit. Some might argue that the witness of the Spirit is sufficient and in some ways it is – at least as a start – but we can be mistaken in what we think the Spirit has told us so that worked becomes more form when it is confirmed by the witnesses of others past and present.
