The sons of Helaman had no experience in battle and as young men could not be expected to be notably strong out skilled. They were young and were called upon to use their energy to march quickly and lead away the Lamanites. The plan was to have experienced men do the main fighting. Little did they know that the energy and obedience of the sons of Helaman would make a formidable army.
