Hopefully I’ll come back and flesh this out but I at least wanted to record the outline of what happened today.
I worked from home in the early part of the day and Laura sent to see her psychologist with a mission to learn how to improve while honoring her limitations. She came back after an honest visit (meaning she didn’t good over anything) having been told that she has an eating disorder. There’s some “I should have known that” in that diagnosis since her reading is clearly disordered but neither of us ever thought of it like that since her reading disorder looks nothing like the classics – anorexia or bulimia.
After lunch we took the whole family besides Savannah to get Emma’s stitches taken out and then go up to Logan for the pumpkin walk and a trip to Mandarin Garden. Savannah was headed up to Idaho with Janet fora campus tour at BYU-I and a visit with Mary.
Everything went well with all of our plans until Savannah called as we were finishing dinner to say that the car was acting odd. She was just induce the border of Idaho do we were only 30 minutes away to go rescue her. It took us over an hour to get there due to unfamiliar roads but thanks to the directions of a young man at a random house we stopped at we were able to get to the girls. It seems the car was dangerously low on oil so we had things working again so that by 8PM they were back on the road to Rexburg and we were finally headed home. It was a long and memorable but successful day.
