Nephi knows that the Lord will provide smoke witnesses to the truth – because he knows that Heavenly Father is a God of truth who had both the capacity and the intent to make His plan known among men – but he carefully ensures that his own record will provide the different witnesses to the truth of the coming of Christ. He has offered his own witness and now offers the witness if his brother by selecting from among his teaching a very powerful testimony of this truth. He then augments those two testimonies by writing words of Isaiah which confirm this same point of testimony.
