Joseph doubted his ability

This project seems to clearly indicate that Joseph Smith doesn’t sound time doubting his ability to translate the Book of Mormon – perhaps thinking he should enlist the aid of a scholar. If so it was most likely during the four years before receiving the plates when Moroni would come to instruct him.
