One of the hallmarks of the plain prophesying of Nephi is that he brings the prophecy down to a point where those hearing him can act on his words. He reminds them that the doctrine of Christ invites them to act by following the example of Christ – specifically to be baptized and to endure to the end in keeping their covenants with Him.
Being plain would not have much value of they couldn’t act on his plainness.
