Mariah and I have been watching over Anne for the last few days as Mariah noticed that she had been losing weight. Since Mariah started having allergic reactions to her she has received food and water but not much interaction. We’ve noticed that she was hardly eating and then I had started to think that Anne felt like her life work was completed. Early this evening Mariah sent me a message that she thought Anne wouldn’t last the night. Later I checked on her and noticed that her breathing was labored. After holding and petting her for a while I set her back in her cage and Mariah told me that when she came to the room only minutes later Anne was no longer breathing.
I feel sorry that she felt neglected for weeks before the end but I also feel that she still knew we loved her. Her passing seemed more peaceful than most of the guinea pigs before her.
