Preparing the sons of Levi

I have noted Malachi’s prophecy about the sons of Levi offering an offering in righteousness but never gave much thought to the words as Christ gave them to the Nephites that He would purify the sons of Levi so that they would be capable of offering an acceptable sacrifice. That is a work He must currently be engaged in – purifying the sons of Levi.

I wonder if He considers the sons of Levi to be robbing Him of tithes again as they were in the days of Malachi? I know that in the present day their practice of tithes is to give to charity as there is no organization they recognize to whom they could pay tithes to the God of Abraham.
