It occurs to me that what I have done in leaving my job to take care of my family is not unlike what Alma did in leaving the judgement seat to care for the church. He saw that the church needed more dedicated care than he could give while he was tied to the responsibilities of the judgement seat so he gave up the judgement seat even though he knew the importance of that role.
Financially providing for my family is important – so is setting an example of participating in the workforce (being in the world) but when the job by which I do those things is destructive of my ability to do the note important work of sheening my family while I still have a golden chance then I can’t let my secondary responsibility inhibit my fulfilling of my primary responsibility.
