The counsel to “take no thought for the morrow” and “seek ye first the kingdom of God” was given to those who had been called to teach the people, not to the people at large. I think that is something I got wrong for much of my life. I focused on spiritual things and eternal concerns like the family while not taking sufficient thought for the material needs that were also my responsibility. That’s something I am trying to rectify now (after digging a fiscal and career hole for myself).
