Christ came and stood in the midst of the disciples because they were praying together in His name. Most of the time He doesn’t come stand in their midst today and I imagine that part of the reason for that is that those ancient disciples expected, based in their experience, that they would receive and answer from Him physically. Perhaps also there is the difference between those who are literally the seed of Abraham whom He promised to visit physically and those who are gentiles by heritage who He promised to visit with His spirit.
