Woe to them that are with child

When Jesus warns that those with child and those giving suck will have greater difficulty in the days of tribulations i had always read that literally to mean pregnant women and mothers with babes in arms. My own experience and observation forced me to expand that interpretation.

I have grown to recognize that life is inherently and generically more difficult for those with young children than it is for those without children or who have older children. Different aspects are more difficult with children of specific ages but most of those increased difficulties are confined to children under the age of 12 and even more to children under 8. Whatever challenges come in the days of tribulation will hit harder among those with children under age 8 and possibly even those with children between 8 and 12.
