Called to focus

As I read of the calls for many individuals I notice a pattern even as they are called to a variety of tasks. In basically every case they are called to focus on things of the spirit or to focus on taking counsel through the channels set up by the Lord with promises that their temporal concerns for themselves out their families will be addressed.

For example when Thomas B. Marsh was told to focus on sharing the gospel and promised that his family would come to accept it – I felt kinship with him.
