After performing miracles to bring the people back to you from worshipping Baal Elijah was ready to die. When asked by the angel why he was waiting to die Elijah said that she all his years of service he was alone in serving the Lord. After the Lord gave him instructions to continue his work He also gave Elijah assurance that there were yet 7000 men in Israel who were faithful even if it felt like he was alone.
