Observe how watchful and careful the Lord of the vineyard is with regard to His tree. At the first sign of deterioration He seeks to nourish the tree. As interventions fail He goes to greater and greater lengths to preserve the tree and it’s fruit.
When the servant requests that they not give up on the half tree with poor fruit I think of Lehi blessing the children of Laman and Lemuel that their sins will be answered upon the heads of their parents.
