Traditions that were not correct

The sons of Mosiah wanted to bring the Lamanites to understand the baseness of the traditions of their fathers that were not correct. Previously I read that as saying that the Lamanite traditions were not correct but now I consider that it may mean only that some of their traditions were not correct. Jacob had told the Nephites centuries earlier that the Lamanites were better than the Nephites in husbands loving their wives. Zeniff wanted to spare the Lamanites when he “saw that which was good among them.”
