I find it interesting that the Lord counsels that his people should “act in doctrine and principle pertaining to futurity.” It is a reminder that we should always be playing the long game. We should not take short term gains (especially with respect to law and government) that jeopardize future stability and wisdom.
I intend to always ask myself if the ideas I think are good will have adverse effects in futurity (not that I will always accurately know that answer).
