I notice the story of Jared rebelling against his father and when his brothers conquered him to redeem the kingdom for their father Jared begged for his life and they spared him. As I read that I thought of how often the very person who caused the trouble is spared while others who followed suffer the consequences. How many who fought for Jared were killed in the fighting while Jared himself was spared to conspire again.
