We’ve had a few interactions with police over the year—like when Ezra left church and was walking along a major road or when Isaac got lost on his bike in Orem near midnight. This time the police showed up at the house because Isaac called them after he rode away from the house to complain about me. The police showed up without Isaac to talk to me about the complaints Isaac had leveled.
I think Isaac was surprised when they brought him home so they could talk to all of us and then they didn’t the whole time explaining to Isaac that he needed to listen to us and that between what Isaac and I had told them it didn’t sound like I was trying to injure him. I also thought it was awesome as they told Isaac that his life would be better if he learned to listen to his parents and follow our directions.
I thought their suggestion that we consider counseling for Isaac (or us and Isaac) was a good idea of Isaac is willing to participate.
