Born of God

I get the feeling that after relating the story of their fathers, those who were converted by the preaching of Alma in the land of Mormon, Alma asked the people if they had been born of God because that was how their fathers had spoken about their conversation. That was perhaps a key phrase in the testimonies of the prior generation.
