Notice how vastly different Moroni and Zerahemnah perceive the same situation. Moroni declared that they have been preserved by the Lord because of their faith and Zerahemnah arches that they were preserved by their armor and their cunning. Nothing Moroni could say would change the kind of Zerahemnah because he has no desire to believe in God.
That is a time when arguing has no value.
