The First Book of Nephi

I had long suspected this but reading the introduction to First Nephi written by Nephi it became clear to me how Nephi wrote his books in the small plates. He had been keeping his record in the large plates and then soon after arriving on the promised land he got the command to make a second record. When he started First Nephi he knew that he would be summarizing his existing record so he knew where he would break between his first book and his second book. The second book of Nephi would be Nephi keeping a sacred record in real time while First Nephi was a sacred record based on what he decided was sacred from the past of his life he had already recorded.
